HyGrid Study Group aims to realize the low-carbon society with renewable energy and hydrogen Considering the expanding movement for renewable energy installation in Japan and also the progress in supporting programs for hydrogen-generated renewable energy overseas, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), Technova Inc., Toyota and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants has established “HyGrid Study Group” to examine “HyGrid” model, optimized energy grid with conventional energy supply and hydrogen. The Group is aiming to install CO2-free hydrogen and to realize a hydrogen-based energy storing system to meet increasing demand of renewable energy.
The Group are targeting to realize the low-carbon society with HyGrid by 2030. We also aim to organize regional working group with academics and local governments to find regionally optimized energy system with HyGrid model as well as to examine possibility to support local economies. The Group welcomes any industries, academics or governments which can agree with our ideals and ideas.
