On July 1, 2026, Ong Eng Chuan, Ambassador of Singapore to Japan, and his delegation visited I²CNER.

Director Tatsumi Ishihara first provided an overview of I²CNER and its research activities. This was followed by discussions with Associate Directors Shigenori Fujikawa and Hiroshige Matsumoto, and Administrative Director Masanobu Kubota. The participants exchanged views on opportunities for research collaboration and academic exchange between Japan and Singapore, which share common challenges in achieving a carbon-neutral society.

Following the discussions, the delegation toured the laboratories of Associate Directors Fujikawa and Matsumoto, as well as Administrative Director Kubota, where they were introduced to each laboratory’s research activities.
