Professor Masamichi Kohno has been honored with the FY2024 Thermal Engineering Achievement Award by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.
The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) is one of Japan’s largest professional organizations, dedicated to advancing mechanical engineering and related fields and promoting the application of technical achievements to society.
The Thermal Engineering Achievement Award is presented to researchers who have made outstanding contributions in the field of thermal engineering.
Reason for the Award:
Prof. Kohno has devoted himself to education and research in thermal engineering, particularly heat transfer. His achievements include studies on the thermal properties of nanostructures and their applications to energy materials, as well as control of cooling characteristics in spray cooling, thereby contributing significantly to the advancement of phase-change heat transfer.
