Prof. Yasuyuki Takata (Multiscale Science and Engineering for Energy and the Environment Thrust) received the ASME Heat Transfer Memorial Award-Science from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) on July 9, 2025.
Prof. Takata is awarded for his seminal contributions to phase-change heat transfer that advanced our understanding of boiling and evaporation processes at contact line, his contributions to measurements of thermophysical properties of hydrogen at high pressure, and his service and leadership in the international heat transfer community. He is the third person from a Japanese university to receive this award since 1992.
The award ceremony was held at the ASME Summer Heat Transfer Conference in Westminster (Colorado), July 8-10.
