Prof. Masanobu Kubota (Advanced Energy Materials Thrust) received the Award for Academic Contribution at the 73rd Annual Meeting of the Society of Materials Science, Japan (JSMS) on May 25, 2024.

Research Title: “New materials science research on hydrogen and structural materials”
Reason for the selection: Prof. Kubota is recognized for his contributions to the advancement and development of materials science through his outstanding research achievements in fretting fatigue, mitigation of hydrogen effect by impurity gases, creep in high-temperature hydrogen gas, and material strength in relation to catalysis on metal surfaces, and his contributions to the contributions to the activities of JSMS.
