Staykov Lab
We apply the methods of quantum mechanics to investigate the structure, electronic properties, and catalytic activity of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles as well as CNTs and nanoparticle nanotubes composites. We have demonstrated the importance of surface curvature effect for nanoparticles durability as catalysts for application in electrochemistry. We have also demonstrated catalytic reactions on core/shell nanoparticle in order to achieve control over the overall catalytic process. Our interest expands to dynamic molecules for application in molecular machines.
