Thermo-gravimetric analysis was used to determine the proton concentration in the specimens. BZCY(54)<sub>8\/9<\/sub>2 showed a maximum proton concentration limit of 17.1\u00a0mol % compared to only 6.03\u00a0mol % for SZCY(54)<sub>8\/9<\/sub>2 and retained the highest proton conductivity of 1.44\u00a0\u00d7\u00a010<sup>\u22122<\/sup>\u00a0S\u00a0cm<sup>\u22121<\/sup>\u00a0in wet 1% H<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0at 600\u00a0\u00b0C. Sufficient chemical stability under 80% steam for 200\u00a0h was confirm for the said composition. Approximately similar proton mobility levels were observed at 600\u00a0\u00b0C for the compositions. The major difference in total conductivity originates mostly from the differences in proton concentration levels.
