Naoki Ousaka
Associate Professor
He received his Ph.D. degree from Nagoya Institute of Technology in 2007 under the supervision of Prof. Yoshihito Inai. After spending two years at the University of Tokyo with Prof. Reiko Kuroda, he joined the group of Prof. Eiji Yashima in Nagoya University as a postdoctoral researcher in 2009 and was promoted to Lecturer in 2014. From 2011 to 2012, he spent one year and six months at the University of Cambridge with Prof. Jonathan R. Nitschke. After working in industry for one year, he joined the group of Prof. Takeshi Endo in Kyushu Institute of Technology as a doctoral researcher in 2019. Subsequently, he was appointed as a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor of the Nano Life Science Institute (WPI) at Kanazawa University in 2022. In April 2024, he joined the group of Prof. Shigenori Fujikawa at Kyushu University as Associate Professor of the Research Center for Negative Emissions Technologies. Prior to joining Kyushu University, his main research was the development of novel helical oligomers (including peptides), polymers, and supramolecules. His current research is focused on the development of novel membranes with CO2 selective permeability based on a supramolecular approach.
