准教授

Hello, I am the Associate Professor at the Kyushu University Platform for Inter-/Transdisciplinary Research (Q-PIT), sub-coordinator of the education promotion division. Before joining Q-PIT in 2022, I spent 8 years at the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), Kyushu University in Japan, at first as a post-doc and later as an Assistant professor. I was trained throughout my education in physics, chemistry, and engineering (MS in Ukraine and Ph.D. in Japan). My current research activity is devoted to the field of membrane science. In the main project, I am focused on developing new materials for separating carbon dioxide from mixtures with nitrogen (for industrial applications) and from the air (for direct air capture of CO2). Efficient gas separation membranes could help us capture huge amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that are currently emitted into the atmosphere. Through several collaborations, I also study gas transport in polymeric and hybrid materials and ultra-thin films for novel applications.
