I2CNER ran a booth at Science and Craft Festa in Kyoto 2013

The World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI) Institutes, including the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), ran booths at “Science Craft Festa in Kyoto 2013”, which was held at Kyoto Pulse Plaza on 16th and 17th March. This science event was organized by Cabinet Office, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan (MEXT), several ministries and agencies targeting mainly at high school students.

In this year, I2CNER shared a booth with Osaka University Immunology Frontier Research Center (IFReC), and held several seminars with the theme: “Let’s take a look at Cutting-Edge Science.” Associate Professor Ikuo Taniguchi, CO2 Separation and Concentration Division, presented as I²CNER's cutting-edge technology in CO2 Capture & Storage. Assistant Professor Aleksandar Staykov, Hydrogen Production Division, introduced Theoretical Chemistry. Assistant Professor Stephen Lyth, Fuel Cells Division, described Graphene and Fuel Cells. Also we demonstrated to produce Hydrogen gas and showed how fuel cell worked at the booth.

About 500 participants, including politicians and government officials visited our booth during the event.
