The International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), Kyushu University, will host the 2021 I2CNER Annual Symposium "A Virtuous Cycle: Embedding the Energy Transition in post-COVID-19 Recovery" on January 26, 2021 (Japan).
The global COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our societies in multiple ways which with regard to the energy systems are manifested in CO2 emission reductions and decreased industrial activity and economic output. Within this framework, in this year’s I2CNER annual symposium, we wish to explore the variety of future energy technologies and policy outlooks in Japan and across the globe, and we plan to discuss how investment can be prioritized in energy engineering so we can accelerate the transition to carbon neutrality while at the same time contributing to economic recovery.
